Charlie Sheen is "winning" again. The formerly troubled actor of "Two and a Half Men" has been so successful with his new T.V. show, "Anger Management" that FX has ordered 90 more episodes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy's production will resume in September, with new episodes slated to premiere in January. FX's deal with Lionsgate, which produced the Jack Nicholson flick of same name and is the production house behind the series, stated in the contract that if the first batch of 10 episodes hit an agreed-upon ratings level, it would automatically receive a 90-episode order from the cable network.
"Anger Management" is the highest-rated new comedy series on cable in 2012, averaging 4.53 million total viewers and 2.5 million in adults 18-49.
"We set a very high ratings bar that included some additional hurdles for Anger Management to earn its back-90 order and the series met and exceed those metrics," FX Networks executive vice president Chuck Saftler said in the announcement.
Saftler says he's confident the producers and cast will be able to produce another 90 episodes during the next two years after quickly turning out the first 10.
"Charlie Sheen and the entire cast did an amazing job in the first ten episodes, which were produced in a very tight window. I have no doubt that the producers and cast will be able to pull off the Herculean task of producing 90 episodes over the next two years."
