"Fashion Police" host Kelly Osbourne has quit the hit E! fashion-critique show. According to a report from Hollywood Reporter, the network issued an official statement to confirm the departure following rants made by Ozzy Osbourne's daughter via Twitter.
The rants made by "Fashion Police" host Kelly Osbourne came amid the public outrage from co-host Giuliana Rancic's comments about Zendaya Coleman. The now infamous Oscars 2015 red carpet review episode had the mainstay criticizing the 18-year-old singer and actress for wearing dreadlocks, saying she must have smelled like patchouli oil or weed.
The "Fashion Police" host's alleged "racist" comments quickly drew flak from social media. Kelly Osbourne herself took to Twitter to express her disappointment over Giuliana Rancic's comments, as well as the entire issue.
"I WILL NOT BE DRAGED INTO THIS! The situation is being rectified like ADULTS by both parties. I hope you can leave it to them & do the same," Kelly Osbourne tweeted.
"I'm giving everyone involved 24 hours to make it right or the world will hear how I really feel. contactually Im not allowed to speak!"
"I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW," she angrily wrote.
Soon after, the network behind "Fashion Police" issued a statement to confirm Kelly Osbourne's resignation.
"Kelly Osbourne is departing E!'s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities," the official statement read.
"We would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers."
"Fashion Police will return as scheduled on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m., and no decisions have been made on her replacement," the network wrote.
According to an earlier report from Hollywood Life, the departure of "Fashion Police" host Kelly Osbourne came even after Giuliana Rancic apologized for comments that she made about Zendaya Coleman.
"People are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not okay," she said.
"Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya, and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry."
