Mom Arrested For Leaving Two Children at Burger King While Shopping

A Brownsville, Texas mother is facing criminal charges after she allegedly left her children at a local Burger King restaurant while she went shopping at Wal-Mart across the street.

According to ValleyCentral.com, Brownsville police arrested 45-year-old Maricela Hernandez Molina around 4:20 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

She was charged with suspicion of leaving her 8- and 9-year-old children at the restaurant so she could shop at a Wal-Mart across the street. Molina faces two counts of abandoning a child with intent to return after police said she was gone for 45 minutes.

Molina appeared before a Brownsville municipal court judge on Monday morning.

Bond information was not immediately available.
