Joan Rivers news reported how the late "Fashion Police" host was snubbed during the Oscars 2015 'In Memoriam' tribute. According to a report, a representative from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences offered an explanation to Page Six following the reactions of outraged fans.

"Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the 'In Memoriam' segment of this year's Oscar show," the statement said.

"She is, however, included in our 'In Memoriam' gallery on Oscar.com."

Joan Rivers' fans and colleagues expressed their disappointment via social media about how the late comedy icon was excluded during the Oscars 2015 "In Memoriam" segment. "The View" host Whoopi Goldberg, as well as "Fashion Police" co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne were among those who got upset about how Joan Rivers was missing from annual tribute.

Aside from being a red-carpet staple and colourful personality every awards season, Joan Rivers news also recalled that the comedienne actually participated in several movies. She starred in "The Muppets Take Manhattan", and wrote and directed a 1978 film entitled "Rabbit Test."

Joan Rivers died last September 4, 2014 after a routine throat procedure at Upper East Side's Yorkville Endoscopy went wrong. The botched operation placed her in a week-long coma that led to her shocking death. She was 81 years old.

Melissa Rivers, who is the comedienne's only daughter, has already filed a high-profile medical malpractice case against the now infamous medical facility. The 46-year-old executive producer of "Fashion Police" is also the heir to Joan Rivers' multi-million dollar estate.

According to Joan Rivers news from Page Six, Melissa Rivers also spoke up in line with her mother's exclusion from the "In Memoriam" tribute during the Oscars 2015.

"It would have been nice, especially considering the impact she had on the awards season," Melissa Rivers said through her Facebook page earlier this week.

"But (my son) Cooper and I have been overwhelmed with support and love over my mom's passing , and we choose to focus on that."
