To fans wishing to see Nate Robinson don a Chicago Bulls jersey again, get yourselves ready because that aspiration of yours could be happening anytime soon.
NBA sources revealed that the 5-foot-9 point guard is interested in returning to the Windy City. Right now, Robinson doesn't have any team after getting waived by the Boston Celtics where he was traded last month by Denver Nuggets in exchange for Jameer Nelson.
News of the possible Nate Robinson - Chicago Bulls reunion was first reported by NBA insider and USA Today writer Sam Amick.
Nate Robinson spent one full season with the Chicago Bulls and he became an instant favorite because of his energy and heady plays. He was the sort of replacement for injured Derrick Rose who went down with knee injury. Robinson's biggest moment at the Windy City is when he scored 34 points in Game 4 of a first round series against the Brooklyn Nets. The Bulls won the match in triple overtime.
Robinson signed a multi-year deal with Denver Nuggets on July 2013 but was slowed down by injury. He averaged 5.8 points and 2.3 assists in 33 games.
This is probably the perfect time that the Nate Robinson - Chicago Bulls reunion can happen as the team's first choice PG Derrick Rose is again down with injury and could miss the whole season. Chicago Bulls PR said the former NBA MVP has medial meniscus tear of the right knee and is sure to undergo surgery.
Last January, coach Tom Thibodeau spoke about his time with Nate, leaving the door open for Nate Robinson - Chicago Bulls reunion.
"Nate's a character,'' Thibodeau told reporters according to a report by Sun Times. "He did a great job for us. The thing about Nate I always say is he's scaring both coaches right now. He was wonderful. I got a lot of respect for him. Obviously, I coached him in Boston too. He's a great teammate and did a great job for us."
