Brooklyn Beckham - Arsenal deal might not last like what fans envisioned. According to reports, the son of legendary English player David Beckham and former Spice Girls Victoria, is set to be dropped by the Premier League club's Hale End academy. The 16-year old kid will have to leave the academy by the end of the season.
"Brooklyn Beckham has been left disappointed in his attempts to secure an Arsenal scholarship," Sami Mokbel said in a report for the Daily Mail.
"The 15-year-old is enrolled at the club's Hale End academy and was hoping to be handed a two-year term to continue with the Gunners.
However, it is understood the teenager will not be retained next season, ending his tenure with Arsenal."
Brooklyn Beckham joined Arsenal academy late last year and videos of him showing his skills instantly round up social media sites. He and his parents' presence at the stadium also caused quite a stir as the team was forced to train behind closed doors because of the flock of fans wanting to have a peek of him.
Although set to be waived by Arsenal, sources say it wasn't because Brooklyn Beckham was not good. It was because David Beckham's eldest child was a bit late since he arrived in the academy when most players are already halfway through their training.
"Despite the decision not to retain him, Arsenal youth coaches still rate the teenager highly, but feel other players in his right midfield position are more advanced in their development at the club. They also feel Beckham can still make the professional grade at another club."
Brooklyn Beckham will stay with Arsenal until the end of the season wand will have the chance to explore other opportunities. Meanwhile, younger brothers, Romeo, 12, and Cruz, 10, are still enrolled at Hale End.
