Idina Menzel was finally able to get back at John Travolta for the name blunder that he did during the 2014 Academy Awards.
The 61-year old actor was asked to introduce the singer who was about to perform the hit song of "Frozen" during the event, but he instead end up saying "Adele Dazeem".
The epic blunder went viral and Slate even created a name generator called "Travoltify Your Name." John Travolta felt really bad about what happened and apologized to Idina Menzel.
"I've been beating myself up all day," Travolta said in a statement as reported by USA Today.
After one year, the "Let It Go" hitmaker took center stage at the Oscars to call out his co-presenter who happens to be John Travolta. Idina took revenge by calling the actor "Glom Gazingo," who was all smiles when he appeared on stage.
"I deserve that, but you, my darling, my beautiful, my wickedly talented Idina Menzel," he told her.
"You got it, not like it's going to follow me around for the rest of my life or anything," the diva interrupted.
"Yeah, tell me about it," the actor replied.
The two celebrities are now quits when it comes to name blunders. But still some people are baffled as to why Travolta committed that mistake. During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kelly Preston's husband explained what really happened.
"The truth is, I was expected backstage and it was getting very close to the time I was supposed to go on and suddenly a page - an assistant to you - grabbed me and said you're on in a minute," he said.
He was supposed to get on stage after 15 minutes, but they changed the schedule.
"As I get backstage I run into Goldie Hawn. She's sexy, charismatic, beautiful, and I was starstruck, hugging and loving her up, forgetting I had to do this bit," the actor admitted. "Then they were like 'OK you're on' and then they said 'Oh by the way, we've changed Idina's name to a phonetic spelling and I was like 'Wait - what do you mean?'"
John Travolta got confused because he didn't rehearse the phonetic spelling and that's why he messed up with Idina Menzel's name. Jimmy Kimmel teased him that it was all Goldie Hawn's fault. "Maybe," the actor said jokingly.
