Serena Williams, the Wimbledon champ, made a guest appearance on the David Letterman show last night and caused quite a stir as she looked elegant in a form fitting, red Victoria Beckham dress.
Williams pared the lovely dress with a $4000 pair of Christian Louboutin Decora pumps. Letterman couldn't help but stare at the gorgeous athlete.
Letterman: "Wow, Boy do you look great!"
Serena: "Thank you. I saw your eyes almost pop out there."
Letterman: "Well, I think so."
Serena: "We can't have that."
Letterman: "That's not the only thing-um, I didn't hear that."
Wednesday night's Letterman appearance certainly wasn't the first time Williams has turned heads this summer. In July, she had the audience buzzing at the ESPY's because of her tight pink dress with a plunging neckline.
Showing up to Letterman was easy for Williams because she's in New York this week preparing for the start of the U.S. Open on Monday. She discussed the gold medal she won at the Olympics, the damage tennis has done to her feet and why she plays better on grass than any other surface.
The 14-time Grand Slam champion ruled on grass this summer, with a Wimbledon title and singles and doubles gold medals at the London Olympics. She not only won those titles, but also she looked dominant doing so.
Williams says she's still on an Olympics high. She says she and sister Venus plan to be in Rio de Janeiro for the next Summer Games.
Williams caused a stir with her celebratory "crip walk" dance when she beat Maria Sharapova at the Olympics this month, but has nothing planned if she wins next month's Open. She says the first dance was impromptu. She adds: "I have to win seven matches, so we'll see."
