Ever since "The Americans" Season 3 premiere episode, Paige (Holly Taylor) has been the center of arguments between her parents Philipp Elizabeth Jennings (Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell). This could go on a little longer as the KGB couple are still split over what to do with their daughter who the Center wants to recruit. It also does not help that Paige is now coming into her own and starts making decisions that are far from what her parents wanted for her.
In the latest episode of, it clearly showed how Paige is growing into a smart kid. It was her 15th birthday and she invited a priest from the church she's serving for a dinner with her family. (The Americans season 3 spoiler ahead) While Philip and Elizabeth thought that was just a kind and sweet gesture, it was actually the moment Paige is waiting to tell her parents that she wants to get baptized. The couple thought they were set up by their daughter, reminiscent of how they act on their field works as Russian agents. The only problem here though is that the baptismal of Paige will get in the way for the Center the Jennings couple are working for .
Philipp and Elizabeth didn't react violently on the revelation of their daughter like the first time the kid bared that she wants to serve the church. Their relationship with Paige has been going smooth and that is something that has been happening ever since the two learned that Russia wants their kids. The couple will encounter more of Paige's surprising acts and according to Holly Taylor, that could be a great thing for their relationship as child and parents.
"She's gonna get more curious. She's gonna start thinking about her home life more - and bringing up that topic a little bit. And then we'll see where that goes!" Taylor said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal after "The Americans" season 3 episode four titled "Dimebag."
"Also we'll see her relationship with her parents kind of shifting, because they are spending more time together, as we've seen in past episodes, like, at church and stuff. So it's nice to see where that relationship is going as well."
