Michael Jordan's Son, Marcus Jordan, Pleads Guilty to Peace Disturbance Charge; Leaves UCF Basketball Team

Michael Jordan's son, Marcus Jordan, has been fined $250 and court costs after pleading no contest to disturbing the peace during an argument with a woman outside a Nebraska hotel last month.

Jordan,21, was in Douglas County Court on Thursday with his attorney, Steve Lefler. Jordan, the son of the famous basketball player Michael Jordan, had also been charged with obstructing a police officer, but that was dropped as part of a plea agreement.

According to the Associated Press, an off-duty officer working security for the hotel was trying to subdue Jordan as he argued with two women in the driveway. Jordan was "very animated, intoxicated and uncooperative."

Jordan was in Omaha for the US Olympic swim trials and was arrested after police responded to a call at a hotel early July 1. When police arrived, hotel security was trying to subdue Jordan as he argued with two women in the hotel driveway.

Jordan averaged 13.7 points as a junior at Central Florida last season. He is not returning for his senior season.

City prosecutor Marty Conboy said a video of the incident showed Jordan in an animated argument with a friend of his girlfriend. The security officer tried to get between Jordan and the woman.

"You can see him going over his shoulder. They're still jawing. As they start pushing back, they go to the ground. It was very brief," Conboy said.

Marcus Jordan has also left the Central Florida basketball program for his senior season, according to the New York Daily news. Jordan, the youngest son of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, will continue to take classes at UCF. Jordan has previously expressed interests beyond the basketball court, including possible business ventures, and received permission from UCF's coaching staff to spend this past summer away from Orlando.
