Another former Disney star goes spiraling down?
Former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star Selena Gomez faces criticism after posing topless for a magazine cover. The Lolita-esque photo has been slammed all over social media, but the actress stands to defend her choice, even posting some photos on her own Instagram account.
The actress-turned-singer star Selena Gomez poses for V-magazine wearing nothing but high-waist jean shorts, and her long curly locks. Although she has her arms across her chest, this cover photo has since gathered criticisms from fans worldwide. Her make-up, as most comments pointed out, made her look like a "12-year-old" and that is not a compliment this time around.
Fans took to Twitter saying that although Selena Gomez was maturing into a beautiful woman, the photos made her look really young and making her pose topless is not a good idea.
The topless photo shoot was described as "weird" and "creepy" especially since Selena Gomez was made to wear raunchy outfit, together with make-up that looked like an attempt to make her younger, like a "child pageant contestant" according to one fan tweet.
Accompanying the topless photo shoot is an interview with Selena Gomez where she talks about how she's overcoming anxiety that comes with fame. According to The Huffington Post, "Spring Breakers" star said, "There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn't leave (the house) as much."
She continued, "I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit. It was just easier to say, 'Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up, I don't want to get photographed."
As she grows older, however, Selena Gomez says she's learning how to cope with whatever fame brings. "I'm finally getting a little bit more comfortable," Gomez said. "It's a process."
