Vikings Season 3 premiere opened to great reviews. As reported earlier, the new season of the historical drama, an original series from History Channel, will see Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his men, and women, travel to far and richer lands like Paris. While the third season is still young, series creator Michael Hirst already has plans if ever it gets renewed.
"I feel I've only just started. I always thought it was very clever of me to choose Ragnar as a central character. I knew he had lots of sons, and I knew that his sons did amazing things," Hirst said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly ahead of the Vikings Season 3 premiere.
"So I knew I had a long, long story to tell. If we get picked up again next season, we're going to go for a lot more episodes. I'm already writing on the hope that we can go forward for those new episodes. I'm into season 4. There are amazing things that happen."
The Vikings TV series creator added that his plans might include Ragnar discovering America.
"They have asked me when the show should end. I said: "It ends when the Vikings discover America." That's the final shot."
As for this season, fans can expect a grand finale as there will be a lot of clever twists. In an interview with Buzzfeed, Clive Standen, who plays Ragnar's brother Rollo, is all praises to the script that will make you say 'Woah!'
Vikings Season 3 premiere episode is titled "Mercenary."
"And a lot of good twists as well. It's really clever, and well thought out twists from our writers as well. There are things, when you're reading the scripts, you're like, how is this going to make sense? And then, the next script comes out and you're like, woah, OK! It's really a cleverly woven script."
