Development for upcoming RPG, "Torment: Tides of Numenera," continues on full swing, and inXile Entertainment confirms involvement in "The Bard's Tale IV" will not affect release date.
In a report by PC GamesN, Kevin Saunders who leads "Torment: Tides of Numenera" shared a few details of the development. He said, "Just as 'Torment's' preproduction had no impact on 'Wasteland 2,' this project ['The Bard's Tale IV'] has no influence on 'Torment's' production because different people are involved."
He continued, "'The Bard's Tale IV' is in its very early stages, with some technical research being performed along with early design work on things like storyline, combat system, dungeon design, etc."
"The Bards Tale" is a 1985 video game and was produced by Interplay Production in the same year and circulated by Electronic Sports. Fast-forward after 30 years comes "The Bard Tale IV."
In another interview with Eurogamer, creative lead Colin McComb talks about what "Torment: Tides of Numenera" is all about and how players will experience a different kind of "Torment." He said, "Our morality system is called The Tides."
Colin McComb further explained, "These Tides are essentially a psychic web of energy that you are drawing from. If you have a certain kind of Tide you can push that power out to people and bend them to your will. If you're dealing with people who are like-minded with you, you can push them into things that are more beneficial for you as well. If you're Silver Tide, which is the one about fame and power, and you're dealing with somebody who's avaricious and always trying to get ahead for herself, then you can push her into seeing things your way and she'll give up more easily without a fight."
"Torment: Tides of Numenera" release date was originally set for December 2014, but was delayed until the fourth quarter of 2015.
