After the success of "Dracula: Untold," star Luke Evans takes on a more serious and realistic role as reports reveal that he joins cast members Alfred Molina and Chadwick Boseman for the film "Message From the King," with a 2016 release date.
Late last year, the lead character for "Message From the King" was casted. He will be portrayed by upcoming Marvel superhero actor, Chadwick Boseman. A relatively newcomer, Chadwick Boseman has appeared in movies like "The Express" in 2008 and "Draft Day" in 2014.
He will be joined by award-winning actor, Alfred Molina, who is known for his work in movies like "Spider-Man 2," "Chocolat," "Frida," "Price of Persia: The Sands of Time" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." Alfred Molina will portray the Hollywood producer who may be the only key to finding Jacob King's (Chadwick Boseman) sister.
"Dracula Untold" star, Luke Evans, is also said to join "Message From the King" as he takes on the role of a Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist. It remains unclear whether Luke Evan's character will help Jacob King accomplish his mission, as this dentist is said to have both legal and illegal activities.
Although this might not be finalized yet, Luke Evans' leaving "The Crow" project could be a sign that "Message From the King" could work.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Message From the King" is a story about "a man from South Africa named Jacob King (Chadwick Boseman) who descends into Los Angeles underworld in an attempt to avenge his sister and rescue her stepson from the immoral world into which he's been sold."
Filming is set to begin this March, with director Fabrice Du Welz at the helm. His known works include "Alleluia" (2014), "Calvaire" (2004) and "Vinyan" (2008).
"Message From the King" release date has been set for 2016. Stay tuned for more updates here!
