New "Deadpool" movie cast update comes your way as "Homeland" TV star Morena Baccarin has reported to join Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming Marvel movie for the female lead.
Baccarin, who is not a stranger to superheroes after appearing in the current seasons of "The Flash" and "Gotham," has landed a role on the upcoming movie jumping from DC to Marvel territories.
Ryan Reynolds, who will appear as the masked mercenary in 20th Century Fox's "Deadpool" movie, first made an appearance in "X Men Origins: Wolverine."
Deadpool's solo film was planned to be released the same year but was delayed due to a number of production problems, including the script getting leaked on the internet.
Today, the road to productions has been a little bit smoother, MMA fighter Gina Carano has also been added to the cast, reportedly playing the character Angel Dust.
"X Men" character Colossus is slated to appear in the movie as well. Daniel Cudmore, the actor who has played the metal-skinned mutant in the past three films, is getting replaced leaving the slot for the role vacant as of now.
Recently, a casting call for various characters was put up for the upcoming movie, Screen Rant claims that the movie has already cast the female lead part, suggesting its mutant Vanessa Carlysle, one of Wade Wilson's leading ladies.
The casting call appears below under a different name.
"[LINDSAY] Any ethnicity, 20s, attractive and worldly. Smart, tough, beautiful but a little bit broken. Nothing has ever been easy for her and she's developed a thick skin and cynical outlook. But she's not a victim-she may not have a great life but she's holding it together and does what she needs to get by. She's got a great sense of humor but it leans heavily towards irony and sarcasm. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SEQUEL OPTIONS. "
The movie is being directed by Tim Miller, a visual effects artist. Though this will be Miller's directorial debut, he has made a name for himself in the special effects industry, he is also the founder of SFX company Blur Studios.
"Deadpool" arrives in theaters on Feb. 6, 2016.
