Singer/songwriter Lady Gaga has announced on Valentine's Day her engagement to "The Vampire Diaries" actor Taylor Kinney.
On Lady Gaga's official Instagram account, she posted the heart-shaped diamond engagement ring offered to her by Taylor Kinney, with a caption that said, "He gave me this heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!"
In an interview with People, Lady Gaga shared a few insights about her then-boyfriend Taylor Kinney. She said, "He's the first man that I dated that, when I sing onstage, he cries. That means more to me than anything."
She continued, "[Kinney] loves from the inside out. And he is completely blind to the way that I dress, my creative process as it is-he knows me as the Italian-American girl my mother and father gave birth to."
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (Lady Gaga), 28, and Taylor Jacks Kinney, 33, have met on the set of Lady Gaga's "You and I" in 2011, and have been dating since.
Talking to the same magazine, Lady Gaga shares the day she first met Taylor Kinney. She said, "I've got these pins sticking out of my head and I'm wearing cork and I've got no hair and I'm bald."
"I mean, why he found me attractive just completely behooves me. We were in the middle of this scene and I remember that he kissed me and it wasn't scripted for him to kiss me. I was sort of like, 'Uh, you know, was that real of was that fake?' And he just didn't really say anything, and that was fine by me and we just kept filming."
Taylor Kinney is known for portraying the werewolf Mason Lockwood in "The Vampire Diaries" series. He has also appeared in other series such as "CSI: NY," "Shameless," "Castle" and "Breakout Kings." His movies include the 2012 film "Zero Dark Thirty" and the comedy movie "The Other Woman" in 2014 with Cameron Diaz.
Talking to Ellen DeGeneres prior to the engagement, Lady Gaga also shared about the real Taylor Kinney. She said, "He's extremely strange, actually. We complement each other's weirdness. That's actually one of the first things he ever said to me. It's a Dr. Seuss quote. You find in someone else a compatible weirdness."
