"Harry Potter" fans unite! Two cast members are coming together for another epic movie!
Award-winning actress Emma Thompson joins another "Harry Potter" alumna, Emma Watson, in the live-action remake of the Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast." Will Ryan Gosling complete the cast?
Emma Thompson who is known for her work in the 2010 Mary Poppins-esque film "Nanny McPhee" and of course as Professor Trelawney in the worldwide phenomena, the "Harry Potter" series. According to the DailyMail, Emma Thompson has been approached to portray the mother figure in the Disney classic, Mrs. Potts.
The live-action "Beauty and the Beast" movie is based on the musical animated film by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released in 1991. Mrs. Potts was then portrayed by another award winning actress, Angela Lansbury. Belle was voiced by Paige O'Hara, and Beast was the voice of Robby Benson.
After multi-talented English actress Emma Watson was announced to play Belle in the upcoming "Beauty and the Beast" live-action movie last January, fans have begun to wonder who will portray Beast.
In a report by International Business Times, 34-year-old actor Ryan Gosling is said to be approached by Disney to play the spoiled and unkind prince, who is turned into what will be Belle's Beast. However, the same report also reveals that the "Gangster Squad" star might not take on the role as he is known for "turning down major studio roles."
While the cast members for Beast still remain unconfirmed, there are other equally exciting characters waiting to be filled. This includes the hunky villain Gaston and his sidekick Lefou, the unforgettable duo of Cogsworth the butler and Lumière the maître d', and, of course, the little boy and son of Mrs. Potts known as Chip.
"Beauty and the Beast" live-action movie is scheduled to begin filming later this year, and soon other details will be unleashed, including a full cast list and release date so stay tuned!
