In the first season of Fox TV series "Gotham," Robin Lord Taylor's Oswald Cobblepot, who will turn out be The Penguin, takes most of the spotlight compared to other known Batman villains.
Oswald's transformation into a major player of the Gotham City crime world is unfolding slowly right before people's eyes. He started as a small-time criminal under the wings of Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith).
("Gotham" TV series spoiler ahed!)
Then, he worked his way to the top by working for the biggest mob bosses in the city.
On the second season of "Gotham," it is not just Falcone or Maroni that Oswald will interact with. In an interview Comicbook.com, you might see him talking to (or maybe working with) some famous Batman villains that are already introduced in the show.
"Obviously, I've had a more established arc in this season than, for example, Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) has, but it is going to be interesting to see how established Oswald is when we're going into the second season," Taylor said when asked to give out a "Gotham" TV series spoiler.
"It will also be interesting to see him interacting more and more with these villains that we're establishing every episode. When Cory [Michael Smith] becomes The Riddler, how is their relationship going to change and develop? That's what I'm really excited about seeing."
This "Gotham" TV series spoiler from Taylor and Comicbook.com isn't that big. Of course, if you have read the comics, many of of Batman's foes worked together to bring the Dark Knight down.
Right now, it is The Penguin's moment although he does not really appear as nemesis for Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). In the Fox series, people already saw Poison Ivey, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Victor Zsasz, and others.
Aside from Taylor, McKenzie and Smith, "Gotham" TV series also stars David Mazouz as young Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, and Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock. "Gotham" will return on Feb. 23 for its 17th episode titled "Red Hood."
