Signs That Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao Fight Will Happen According To Freddie Roach

| By

Over the past days, several key people involved in the possible Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao fight made themselves heard.

Bob Arum, founder and CEO of Top Rank, says there's no TV deal yet between the two although he is optimistic it will happen. He also warned both camps to accelerate the talks because their target fight date is fast approaching.

For Freddie Roach, a World Boxing Hall of Fame member and Manny Pacquiao's coach-trainer for the longest time, he is positive his boy will finally meet the undefeated American fighter on the ring. For him, Mayweather Jr. talking to media on television is enough sign to assume that the much awaited bout between this generation's most decorated boxing stars will happen.

"When you see Mayweather talking on TV, that means something to me because he never goes on TV to talk about a fight. That's the first time I've ever seen him do that," Roach said in an interview with UCN.

In a separate interview with SecondsOut, the 54-year old former pro boxer said seeing Floyd talking about the fight is unusual, a good kind of unusual.

"I honestly feel the fight is going to happen. Floyd has talked on TV twice at the basketball game, which is very unusual," he said. "Bob Arum wants the fight, I want the fight and Manny wants the fight; a lot of good names want this fight and usually when these high people want it, they get it."

Right now, Roach is reportedly preparing for the Floyd Mayweather Jr/ Vs Manny Pacquiao Fight. In fact he already picked Manny's sparring partner, someone who has shades of Floyd's fighting style.

"I've done some research on Floyd and on sparring partners. This is going to be the biggest challenge ever but I think my guy can pull it off but it wont be easy," Roach said.

"It's a very tactical fight (Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Manny Pacquiao) and I have to come up with a great game plan."
