Another Matthew Perry series is set to arrive tomorrow and fans are going crazy as this could lead to another mini-reunion among "Friends."
CBS comedy series "The Odd Couple" premieres tomorrow with "17 Again" co-star Thomas Lennon. Actor and producer Matthew Perry talks live audience and possibilities of "Friends" reunion with cast members guesting in his not-so-brand-new comedy.
In a recent interview with CBS, the former "Friends" star Matthew Perry talked about his involvement in the upcoming CBS series "The Odd Couple." Apart from starring in the show as Oscan Madison, Matthew Perry co-developed the revamped classic with Danny Jacobson and is also producing the series.
With this, Perry shares how important a live audience is for the series, especially as he portrays Oscar. "When your audience is there you juice up your performance," Perry said.
"I'm much better in front of an audience. I like hamming it up in front of an audience and you get an instant reaction. You get to find out right away if a joke works or if a joke doesn't work, and if a joke doesn't work they all fix it."
Matthew Perry also talked about his chemistry with co-star Thomas Lennon. Both have worked together in the 2009 family film "17 Again" as best friends and they have been told that they compliment each other on-screen, relating this to the other actors who have portrayed Oscar and Felix in the past.
"All those people had wonderful chemistry, so the show sort of hinges on the chemistry between Oscar and Felix and I think we've found a good Oscar and Felix," shared Perry.
Meanwhile, as "The Odd Couple" brings back Matthew Perry on your daytime TV, fans keep asking whether a mini-reunion with other "Friends" is possible. Sadly, although years after "Friends," each would guest star in one another's series, (ie, Matthew Perry on Courtney Cox's "Cougar Town"), this may not hold true for "The Odd Couple."
When asked about a possible reunion with former "Friends" come "The Odd Couple" release date, Matthew Perry replied "There's been no talk of that. It's difficult to get the six of us to get together to have dinner."
