After it was confirmed that indeed P.T. is the latest "Silent Hills" video game, fans went wild for more details. "The Walking Dead's" Norman Reedus shares Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro involvement, and other information available so far.
In a recent interview, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus, who now appears as the main character in the highly anticipated "Silent Hills" talks about working with creators Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro.
"I'm super excited to be a part of Silent Hills," said Norman Reedus. "Both those guys [Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro] are geniuses at what they do. We haven't shot the 'heavy stuff' yet. Kojima approached me right after Guillermo did."
Hideo Kojima is known in the gaming world for his work in the "Metal Gear" franchise, while Guillermo del Toro is popular for creating horrifyingly beautiful dark fairy tales in the likes of "Pan's Labyrinth" in 2006, and the upcoming romantic goth film, "Crimson Peak."
Hideo Kojima also reveals that as "Silent Hills" will run on Fox engine, it will be better suited to be released as an open-world game. According to a report by Crossmap, Kojima shared in an interview his thoughts about the engine and the development of "Silent Hills."
He said, "All I can say is that Fox engine is meant for open world I cannot discuss more on the game design itself in detail yet."
Hideo Kojima continued, "Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only. Either way we want to do something with first person. The game will not be out more than likely until 2016, lots of time left."
"Silent Hills" release date is rumored to be on October 2016.
