GoPro Hero 5 Release Date Set On October 2015? Rumored Upgraded Specs Include 60FPS, Up To 8K Resolution And 150% Increased Battery Life—Available Details So Far

| By

Almost a year after the release date of its predecessor, GoPro Hero 5 is rumored to be in development and said to be launched by the end of this year! And the upgraded specs and details on battery life, resolution and price don't look like the product was rushed-at all.

GoPro Hero 5 will definitely have an upgraded resolution. According to reports, as image quality is the top selling factor of the GoPro line, makers of the extreme-action camera will put focus into this selling point. Resolution is speculated to be upgraded to at the most 8K, increasing the quality of the photos even more. GoPro Hero 5 is also rumored to come with 60FPS capability.

While of course it's a positive change, fans of the GoPro line who are anticipating the release of GoPro Hero 5 are concerned about the effects of this increased photo quality to upload time. According to Christian Post, the developer GoPro Inc., will address this issue by also upgrading connectivity via an even more advanced Bluetooth 4.0. These large images will then have no issues in terms of transmittal from the device to other mobile devices for viewing.

With these advancements, fans are worried that although photos will be superb, these upgrades will affect the battery life of GoPro Hero 5. Again, this remains unconfirmed but it is common sense for the latest device to have at the least an additional 150% battery life, as rumors have clearly pointed out.

The price of these upgrades may not necessarily be expensive, but possibly fitting. Some reports reveal that the usual $399-$499 price range could change to $450-$550 for the upcoming GoPro Hero 5.

While GoPro Inc. has yet to officially reveal a launch date, it has been speculated that GoPro Hero 5 release date will come by October.
