Just a day out in the market and fans are raving about the newest Nintendo 3DS XL. Find out the hardware upgrades to this family member, and a guide on how to transfer your data should you decide to replace your old console.
Nintendo 3DS XL was released in Japan late last year, and has only been out a few days in the US. With a few hardware upgrades including new buttons and numerous other games, what are the major differences of the newest Nintendo 3DS XL?
There are two major upsides to Nintendo 3DS XL: buttons and library. In a review by Polygon, the new buttons might look awkward at first but "they feel great." The review said, "We found it natural to slip our fingers from one set of shoulder buttons to the other in the midst of gameplay without any problems."
A second analog "stick" known as the "c-stick" has also been added to the right panel of buttons in the new Nintendo 3DS XL. According to the same review, although the newest "stick" might not look like the previous analog sticks gamers are used to, "in games that require strong control over the camera... the 'c-stick' worked perfectly."
The same review also notes that Nintendo 3DS XL will allow gamers a wide variety of game choices that includes improved classic games like the "Super Smash Bros.", "Pokemon" and "Zelda" games.
The new Nintendo 3DS XL also has a stronger CPU at 4x (3DS XL at 2x), co-processor at 4x, 256MB RAM, and a 10MB VRAM.
How to transfer data to your new Nintendo 3DS XL is easy. Just make sure you have both systems with you and after completing the initial setup for the new Nintendo 3DS XL, find the System Transfer from the Home menu, under System settings and other settings.
In both systems, choose Transfer and select from where you're copying data from to where you want the data transferred. Simply follow on-screen prompts as to how you want data retained or erased. Finally, select Move and your data will be transferred.
