"Titanfall 2" release date will be announced soon, according to reports, and this will likely be by 2016. Developer Respawn Entertainment also reveals that while "Titanfall" is Microsoft-exclusive, the sequel most likely won't be.
The sequel to "Titanfall" released early last year that has yet to be officially confirmed by a representative from publisher Electronic Arts has almost assured that "Titanfall 2" will come soon.
During the Technology, Internet & Media Conference last Monday, CFO Blake Jorgensen shared bits and pieces about the reported development of "Titanfall 2."
"Last year it was on the Xbox only," he said. "In the future, we haven't yet announced, but we'll probably have another 'Titanfall' game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that's a huge positive for us."
"Titanfall" released in 2007 gained a resounding positive review from critics worldwide; however, its inability to other platforms has made it a downside. This, according to Jorgensen, has been taken into consideration as the possibility of bringing "Titanfall 2" to a wider range of consoles will likely be the case.
On speculations for "Titanfall 2" release date, reports reveal that release date for "Titanfall 2" could be as early as 2016. In an interview with Game Informer, Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella shared that 2015 will be quiet for the developer, where teams will be "heads down, back to work." And while "Titanfall 2" development has yet to be confirmed, the speculated 2016 release date is more possible than this year.
"Titanfall" is a multiplayer FPS game that focuses on mechanic soldiers known as Titans. The Titans are classified into three different classes in "Titanfall" as Atlas, Orge and Stryder. These titans are to accomplish objectives specific to game modes. How "Titanfall 2" is upgraded and what new gameplay modes will be available are yet to be revealed.
