Recent "How to Get Away with Murder" episode guide shows the arrival of Cicely Tyson's Ophelia, the mother of protagonist Annalise Keating (Viola Davis). In earlier interviews, Tyson said her character isn't that convinced that Annalise does not have anything to do with the murder of her husband Sam (Tom Verica). Well, it seems everyone around Annalise are getting skeptical about her actions, even the students she is conniving with to hide the truth.
In a scoop by the Entertainment Weekly, "How to Get Away with Murder" TV series creator Peter Nowalk revealed Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch), the kid who killed Sam and Annalise talked to about how they can hide the body, may not be that comfortable with the actions and promises of Annalise.
"Wes is direct and honest and pure in his heart, so if he has a question, he's going to ask Rebecca directly," showrunner Pete Nowalk said.
"Unfortunately, working for Annalise and having the year that he's had, people don't always say what they mean and aren't always speaking the truth. As much as he'd like to just believe her-he did when he was more innocent and pure-he can't help but use the lessons he's learned to be suspicious of people and be distrustful. Although he hates that about himself now, there's no denying that instinct of wanting to know more and poke holes in someone's story and look for evidence to see if they're telling the truth."
As for Karla Souza, who plays the pragmatic Laurel Castillo, all of the students should be aware that there's no one they can trust in the situation they're in right now. In the next "How to Get Away with Murder" episodes, people will see each character doubt each other.
"For all we know, behind the scenes, people could be doing things. You have no idea who you can trust," the actress said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.
"We really start to crumble, and some of us are definitely going to crack."
