The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge Amanda Holden faces backlash on social media after posting a photo of her daughter Lexi dressed up like Julia Roberts's character Vivian on "Pretty Woman." Her 9-year-old daughter wears a tight red dress with chunky necklace as she leans on the piano, Daily Mail reports.
After 8 minutes on the social media, Amanda deleted the photo after it was being criticized by a parenting group, and considered the photo as 'inappropriate' and 'sexualised'. Some eagle eyed fans have also managed to save the photo and it's been shared a hundred times.
Cathy Ranson, editor of parenting site Netmums, warns the 43-year-old mum of three the impact on posting 'sexualised photo, the Daily Mail adds.
"Most parents wouldn't consider it appropriate to dress their daughter as a film prostitute for a school project and certainly wouldn't want to plaster the picture on the internet," Cathy Ranson said in a statement.
'Amanda has been very open about her battle to become a mum and clearly loves her kids - but although she had the sense to take down the image quickly, it could still be shared and used inappropriately.
Meanwhile, Amanda Holdem defends herself through her released statement today.
'The truth is that Lexi went to school as Cindy Crawford for her school 90s Day - not Julia Roberts - as anyone who heard me yesterday at BGT - and indeed the teachers at Lexi's school - will confirm,' the 'British Got Talent' judge said on her statement.
"However my husband thought she looked more like Julia Roberts, without any thought to any interpretation. Although given that she is a 9 year old girl it seems completely unbelievable and disturbing that anyone could or would put such an interpretation on it."
She also claims that her husband record producer Chris Hughes 'has hit the wrong button' and accidentally posted the photo on Twitter that's why she has to take down the photo.
