Will Smith Reveals That The Cast 'Suicide Squad' Hasn't Read The Script Yet; DC's Villain Centric Movie Arriving On Aug. 5, 2016

Following Zack Snyder's much anticipated crossover film "Batman V Superman" in 2016 is "Suicide Squad," a movie that will feature an all-star villain cast.

Directed by "Fury" helmer David Ayer, the film will feature "Wolf of Wall Street" beauty Margot Robbie taking on the role of Harley Quinn, "Dallas Buyers Club" actor Jared Leto as The Joker, "Men In Black" star Will Smith as Deadshot, "Divergent" actor Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and will introduce TV's "How To Get Away With Murder" actress Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and "Paper Town" actress and Victoria Secret model Cara Delevigne as The Enchantress.

The project came across a rough road when Tom Hardy, who initially set to play character Rick Flagg, left the project rumored because of scheduling conflicts with his other project "Mad Max: Fury Road." Shortly after, it was Jake Gylenhaal who was reported as the top contender in replacing Hardy. He passed up on the offer leaving the role without yet an actor to play it.

But it seems that all is moving forward with the film with cast members getting in shape for their respective roles. Ayer, a few months ago, tweeted an image of Jai Courtney working out captioned, "Jai prepares for battle #suicidesquad" while Will Smith claims that he hasn't had a carb since Christmas.

Smith also revealed in an interview with Flick and The City that none of the cast members have read the director's script. Smith praised Ayer's unconventional method, believing that secrecy might prove conducive to the film and its talents.

"It's really cool, the way that David Ayer works. It's all images, all ideas, and he holds the screenplay [pretty close] and he just keeps sending you things about your character," said Smith revealing that that the director wants the cast to "be prepared for anything."

This movie will be a first of it's kind in the superhero category with villains playing the lead role - that and David Ayer's unique style of filmmaking might just make "Suicide Squad" into an instant hit.

The movie will be in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
