Today has certainly not been a great day for Kris Humphries. And that’s not only because it would have been the first wedding anniversary of his marriage with reality show star Kim Kardashian but also because Kris parents, Debra and William, are getting divorce, according to Daily Mail.
The business-minded couple own several Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurants throughout the state.
Kris and the main star of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” became husband and wife last May after dating for only six months. However, their puppy-love romance lasted longer than they were married. They were wed for 72 days which goes in the Hollywood celebrity divorce record-book.
But unlike their fast track marriage, their divorce process has been a semantic warfare between lawyers representing both sides.
In a court hearing on Wednesday, Humphries lawyer, Marshall Waller, accused Kardashian’s team of delaying the discovery process, suggesting Kardashian’s lack of commitment with the fluidity of the process.
"I don't want to use the word uncooperative, but they are not making the process easier," Marshall Waller told the judge, according to E!, adding that he needs at least four months to get ready for trial.
Kardashian's lawyer rebutted the accusation. Not only have they been cooperative, said Laura Wasser, Kim Kardashian’s attorney, but they have spent at least $250,000 on the case so far – which they plan to pass on to Humphries.
Humphries claimed Kim staged the lavish multi-million dollar wedding for publicity of her "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" brand. He says she used him for fame and fortune. Even a former publicist for Kim claimed the same thing. After all, controversy sells in Hollywood, right?
