Ryan Reynolds who stars as the title character in 2016's "Deadpool" has released an image on his Twitter account teasing his costume in its early stage.
Seen in the photo, Reynolds is standing over a pair of gloves and a version of Deadpool's mask. He reveals that the photo's "Sepia tone disguises the fact the mask is ballerina pink," adding "It's early. 365 sleeps early," appropriately as the movie is due out in exactly a year from now.
The merc with a mouth first made his appearance in "X Men Origins: Wolverine," with plans of giving Wade Wilson aka "Deadpool" his own spin-off shortly after. But with "Wolverine" underperforming at the box office and received poorly by fans, his planned solo effort was dropped altogether.
The title has been dormant under 20th Century Fox since 2009. A leak of the script happened in the same year, adding to one of the reasons why the project was shelved.
But it seems that all is moving forward for Reynolds since the release of the movie's test footage; the movie has already been given a Feb. 12, 2016 release date.
"We've had a script for three years. The script got leaked, and people even loved that. That says a lot - if you can create a script around a comic-book character that is directly within the canon of the character and be embraced," said Reynolds in an article published by Screen Rant.
The movie is being helmed by Tim Miller, making it his directorial debut. Miller better known as a visual effects artist and the founder of special effects company Blur Studio.
"Deadpool" is one of three "X Men" films to be released in 2016 along with Bryan Singer's "X Men: Apocalypse" and "Gambit" with Channing Tatum playing the title role.
"Apocalypse" releases on May 27, 2016 while "Gambit" drops on Oct. 7, 2016.
