'Hitman: Agent 47' Trailer Starring Rupert Friend; Movie Arriving In Theaters Aug. 28

Hitman, is a popular stealth video game series created and developed by Danish company IO interactive and is now ready to hit theaters for the second time.

A big screen adaptation under 20th Century Fox and Xavier Gens was made in 2007 and starred "Justified" actor Timothy Olymphant as assassin Agent 47. Despite criticism, the movie considerably became a success by earning $100 million gross worldwide with only a $24 million budget. A sequel was planned but never came to frution due to the first installment's reception with audiences.

A new reboot, titled "Hitman: Agent 47" originally had plans to star Paul Walker playing the lead role of the professional assassin, it now stars Rupert Friend of Television's "Homeland" following Walker's passing in 2013.

Initial footage of the reboot debuted last year at the International Comic-Con in San Diego, the official trailer has now been released online.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

"HITMAN: AGENT 47 centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research ­and forty-six earlier Agent clones - endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47′s past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe."

Co-starring Friend is Zachary Quinto of "Star Trek" fame and English actress Hanna Ware of ABC's TV series "Betrayal."

Aleksander Bach, a music video director helmed "Hitman: Agent 47" making it his debut feature film; the movie is set to release in theaters on Aug. 28.
