Streaming media Netflix accidentally unleashed the first 10 episodes of the highly anticipated "House of Cards" season 3 online weeks before it's scheduled release date. Revealing spoilers for "Chapter 27" through "Chapter 36," videos were quickly taken down to the disappointment of fans worldwide.
In a press statement to PEOPLE, a representative from Netflix explained the occurrence, blaming the appearance of "House of Cards" season 3 online to a glitch in their system. According to the report, "Due to a technical glitch some Frank Underwood fans got a sneak peek. He'll be back on Netflix on Feb. 27. #nospoilers."
Netflix also takes the matter to its official Twitter account where the "House of Cards" account does confirm the leak, but brushes the mishap off, noting that leaks on anticipated series always happens.
Although the hashtag accompanying the statement says that episodes 1-10 were only up online for a short time, spoilers of these 10 episodes, titled "Chapter 27" through "Chapter 36" have surfaced online.
According to The Verge, though Netflix was quick to take down the leaked 10 episodes of "House of Cards" season 3, spoilers of each episode have been made available to anticipating fans.
