| By

Set to define the Marvel Cinematic Universe is "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the movie where we will see the earth's mightiest face off against Ultron - an enemy created by one of their own.

Set to release on May 1st, the movie will open up new storylines and introduce new heroes and enemies. Super powered twins Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) who were first seen in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" are also appearing in the film.

Comic Book Movie reports that a digital comic book recently released by Marvel - "Avengers: Age of Ultron Prelude - This Scepter'd Isle" reveals the origins of the twins.

The comic tells how Loki's scepter went from being in the possesion of the "Avengers" to Baron Von Strucker in "The Winter Soldier."

They also reveal that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were used as the scepter's test subject, unlocking any powers they might have had, claiming that they were originally from the race of "Inhumans."

Elsewhere, new promotional art for characters "Vision" and "Ultron" have been released.

"Vision" has not yet made an appearance in any of the trailers so far as many expect that he will be debuting on screen at a time closer to the movies release. These promotional artworks are the only references fans can see of the new Avenger member.

Toy manufacturer Hot Toys have provided some information on the movie's antagonist. They have created an action figure dubbed "Ultron Prime," which hints that the character will evolve from it's early form (as seen in the trailers).

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark aka Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers aka Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as demigod Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton aka Hawkeye, Paul Bettany as Vision, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and James Spader as the voice of Ultron.
