Rebellion Entertainment has finally announced "Sniper Elite's Zombie Army Trilogy" will arrive in PS4, PC and Xbox One consoles on March 6.
It will include a remastered version of the original 2013 game "Nazi Zombie Army" and its sequel, and unreleased third installment in the series, IB Times reports.
According to Jason Kingsley, creative director and co-founder of Oxford, England-based Rebellion Developments revealed on the European PlayStation Blog on Friday the new contents of the game.
"Referring to this game as a Trilogy was very deliberate because we wanted to make sure gamers knew how much new content we've been working on. The headline of course is a new third campaign with five new missions which have never been released before. It's a personal highlight for me - our designers have produced a fitting finish for the series," he said on Playstation Blog.
He also explained that the game was not released until current-generation consoles and PC were able to run the game.
"We always wanted to support as many platforms as possible, but the consoles at the time couldn't handle the PC tech we were pushing. With so many people emailing and Tweeting us about it, we had to first prove to ourselves that it was viable both in terms of game dev, and financially," he further elaborated on his writing.
As previously reported, Game Spot adds that the upcoming trilogy will come with "five, never before released missions that will cap the 'Zombie Army Trilogy,' a new horde mode, and four new playable characters."
The game will also feature a cooperative mode with eight new characters including four female characters as requested by fans.
"Sniper Elite's Zombie Army Trilogy" can be digitally purchased on Steam, the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, while physical copies will also available for PS4 and Xbox One.
