Rush Tour 2015: Guitarist Alex Lifeson Hints That This Might Be Their Last Major Tour; Tour Dates And Venues Inside!

| By

Prog rock veterans "Rush" had just celebrated their 40th anniversary with a commemorative boxed DVD set. The set includes performances of the band that span four decades including their past five tours, rare footage from 1974, and their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

After months of rumors, the band has finally announced the dates for their upcoming "R40 Live 40th Anniversary Tour."

Here's the official press release from their official webpage.

"Celebrating 40 years, Rush and Live Nation confirmed that R40 Live Tour will visit 34 cities throughout North America this summer beginning May 8 in Tulsa, OK and finishing August 1 in Los Angeles, CA. These not to be missed concerts will highlight four decades of the band's music."

While hardcore fans are finally getting what they want with the band hitting the road in May, it seems that this might be the last time they will tour as guitarist Alex Lifeson explains in an interview with Classic Rock Magazine.

"We'd been working like crazy for five years. After the last tour we were exhausted and we decided to take a year off. I think over this past period we've got to really like being home and enjoying our family time." said Lifeson.

Adding, "My wife and I did a lot of travelling - stuff we wanted to do for decades and hadn't been able to. We took advantage of that time off. Coming back to another big tour was a really tough decision. You can see that in the number of dates - it's a short tour."

With that being established, these shows are surely not to be missed. The complete tour dates and venues appear below via Rolling Stone.
