"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" has been all the buzz lately with fans clamoring to get a glimpse at the "Man of Steel" and "The Dark Knight" in the form of a feature trailer.
The movie will introduce new characters such as "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman," setting the stage for the upcoming "Justice League" installments in 2017 and 2019.
Following the release of "Dawn of Justice" is the all-star supervillain movie "Suicide Squad." It is directed by "Fury" helmer David Ayer, the cast includes Jai Courtney (Divergent) as Captain Boomerang, Will Smith (I Am Legend) as Deadshot, Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) as The Joker, Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street) as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder) as Amanda Waller and will introduce Victoria Secret model Cara Delevigne as The Enchantress.
Though "Suicide Squad" will release in the same year as "Batman V Superman," its uncertain if the two would be sharing the same universe.
Regarding the plot, Ayer has been posting on his Twitter account debating on how much will he take from the source material.
A rather better question is which continuity would he follow - The Brave and the Bold or New 52's Task Force X? He hints that there is plenty of inspiration for him to draw from the comic books rather than creating new stories.
He also touched fan-favorite character "Harley Quinn," as he teases the origins of her motivation in another tweet.
Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn is widely believed to be pivotal in DC's cinematic universe because her association with Batman's greatest enemy, The Joker. Will her role serve as the connective tissue to tie "Suicide Squad" with "Batman V Superman"?
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" releases on Mar. 25, 2016 followed by "Suicide Squad" on Aug. 5, 2016.
