'Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens' Introduces New Cast Member Daisy Ridley; British Actress To Play Daughter Of Han Solo

As many know, J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" is set to continue the long running saga started by creator George Lucas back in 1977.

So, far the movie has released one trailer teaser - seen in the footage are familiar places and new characters: the desert is believed to be Tatooine, Luke Skywalker's homeland; the icy terrains of Hoth; a darkside character with a cross-guard lightsaber; even a scene of the Millenium Falcon in battle was included.

Speaking of new characters, British actress Daisy Ridley has been all the buzz lately in "Star Wars" related news, as she is widely believed to play the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia.

Ridley had basically been unknown in the industry, a newcomer who mostly landed roles in short films and acted in a few TV shows. She tweeted this message upon getting news of her casting: "Overwhelmed by all the support. This is the greatest day of my life. I'm told I can't say who I'm playing yet, but it's exciting!"

Even today, not much is known about the actress save for some brief acting parts in "Toast Of London" and "Blue Season."

Daily Mail UK reported a showreel of the actress whose age is unknown appeared on Vimeo but has been taken down since she was announced part of the cast.

The director not only casted Ridley for a lead part in the upcoming movie, newcomers Oscar Isaac of "A Most Violent Year," John Boyega of "Attack The Block" and Adam Davis of TV show "Girls" were all announced joining "Episode VII" as main characters.

Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are all reported reprising their iconic roles in "The Force Awakens". Directed by J.J. Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, Byan Burk and Abrams are producing with John Williams returning as the movie's composer.

The movie opens in theaters on Dec. 18.
