Following recent rumors that "GTA 6" will no longer happen, Rockstar Games confirms development of the highly anticipated action-adventure RPG. Game details including release date, setting and even crossover speculations with "Red Dead Redemption" available so far.
In an interview with Develop, Leslie Benzies of Rockstar Games talked about the upcoming "GTA 6" and the plans for the next video game: "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do."
Benzies continued, "We don't know what 'GTA 6' will be, but we've got some ideas. It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in."
The setting is also among the most rumored detail apart from "GTA 6" release date. Speculations have mentioned that upon "GTA 6" release date, fans will enter the open city of Portland or Rose City in Oregon. According to reports, this location for "GTA 6" will be more open to having numerous gun shops and other entities found on a red light district.
A new protagonist is also rumored to appear come "GTA 6" release date, as speculations point to the character John Marston from the video game "Red Dead Redemption." It has been speculated that a crossover with this open world adventure will happen in "GTA 6", specifically with a possible descendant of John Marston.
"GTA 6" release date has also been rumored to be set on 2017, according to some reports. However, there has also been speculation that release date of "GTA 6" won't be until 2018. To date, Rockstar Games has yet to confirm officially when "GTA 6" will be released, but fans have been satiated for now, at least development has been confirmed.
