News of Bruce Jenner woman transition has many people asking a number of questions, like why and how, and when did it occurred to him that he wants to become a female.
Over the past weeks, several reports revealed that the father figure in the reality show "Keeping up with the Kardashians" is literally changing himself. Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist for track and field and former auto racing driver, is allegedly undergoing several operations to have a feminine look.
Jenner is a stepfather to Kardashian sisters Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob and father of Burt, Casey, Brandon, Brody, Kendall and Kylie Jenner in his relationship with Kris Jenner.
Most of Bruce's daughters are supporting him with his new "life." So is her mother. When news of Bruce Jenner woman transition broke out, his mother, Esther, received plenty of calls from the media asking her for confirmation. Although the 88-year old lady refuses to confirm the news about his son, she revealed to the Associated Press that he and Bruce already talked about it.
"It was brief and I said I was proud of him and that I'll always love him. I never thought I could be more proud of Bruce when he reached his goal in 1976, but I'm more proud of him now. It takes a lot of courage to do what he's doing," Esther Jenner said.
When asked to confirm if Bruce Jenner has opened up in terms of gender identity, the elder Jenner said:
"That's absolutely right. He said, 'Mom, I'm still the same person.' He said, 'I'm still going to race cars, I'm still going to fly airplanes and I'm going to get my helicopter license."'
AP also asked how did they go about the discussion.
"'I want to be honest about my identity and I know this is coming out in the press.' He started by saying, 'We need to have a long, serious talk.' I am at peace with what he is and what he's doing," Bruce Jenner's mom shared.
