Fans have to thank the internet people/hackers for leaking the "Deadpool" movie trailer test footage.
If not for them and the warm reception, the spin-off film for the loud mouthed mercenary and anti-hero whose alter ego is Wade Wilson would have not gotten a green light.
Talking to Yahoo, Ryan Reynolds, who will play the title role, said having the clip getting out on the internet without permission is a blessing in disguise.
"Leaked test footage. Exclusively the leaked test footage, 100 percent," Reynolds said when asked how "Deadpool" spin-off movie hot the green light.
When asked who leaked the "Deadpool" movie trailer, the 38-year old actor said he doesn't know who was behind it but he himself would disobey orders if he ever knew how to do it.
"I would have, if I had known it would have caused that! Honestly, we all thought Tim Miller, the director, had leaked it. But I have since investigated that enough, in quiet moments when he was beyond the point of being penalized by anybody, and he said that he really didn't do it. The initial [leak] came from Fox they think - someone recorded the footage on their iPhone and then released it. And then once that happened, somebody hacked into Blur Studios and got the original footage in high-res and put it online," Reynolds explained.
Ryan Reynolds also said that even though they are not well-funded like other Marvel flicks like "Avengers" series, "Captain America" and "Ironman," they will make sure fans will get the best.
"Now, we get to make the movie. We don't get to make it with the budget of most superhero movies, but we get to make it the way we want to make it, so that's even more exciting than having a catered lunch."
Right now, all fans can get of Wade Wilson's comedic acts and actions is through "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" released in 2009 or the leaked "Deadpool" movie trailer test footage found here.
The movie will start production this 2015 and has a Feb. 2016 release date. Reynolds first confirmed the “Deadpool” spin-off movie through a tweet in December last year.
