OnePlus One has been dubbed as the "flagship killer" with its affordable price tag yet competitive features. The phone can be purchased through an invite only system, but OnePlus dropped this marketing strategy in Dec. 2014 to allow more buyers of the said unit.
The OnePlus One runs on a custom ROM Cyanogen MOD 11S, and it is announced yesterday on OnePlus official blog that an over-the-air (OTA) update will roll out next month, IB Times reports.
According to the company's official statement all purchased OnePlus One units will receive the OTA and will be preloaded with a SwiftKey keyboard.
"We always look to improve user experience by working with partners who share our vision of great products and sensible innovation," said Helen Li, OnePlus's chief of mobile product.
"SwiftKey improves the keyboard experience for our global user base with support for 81 languages."
SwiftKey keyboard is one of the most downloaded third party keyboards on Play Store. It used to be a paid application on Play Store, but in June developers have made it free for Android users while premium themes are purchased.
"We want OnePlus customers to enjoy all the fun of faster, easier typing from a keyboard that learns from them. It's our mission to make it easier for everyone to type and communicate on mobile, and we're proud to partner with an industry disruptor to bring our innovative smart keyboard to more people around the world," Eric Collins, SwiftKey's head of distribution said in a statement.
MaxxAudio integration was also mentioned to be included on the update. It is still unknown if users in India will receive the update as it was confirmed by Cyanogen that no OTA will arrive in the country, though users can still download the update through system image whenever it's available for download, NDTV reports.
