'Empire' TV Show Cast Gets Even Brighter As Elite Musician Jessica Hudson Set For Guest Star Roles; Iggy Azalea Also Being Courted For Fox Drama

| By

The "Empire" TV show cast is star studded, one of the many reasons why it is successful.

The show is led by Terrence Howard and Taraji Henson who portray former husband and wife Lucious and Cookie Lyon; they were also paired up in "Hustle and Flow" movie before.

Their characters have been separated after the wife got jailed while the husband enjoyed a colorful music career and now owns a recording company named Empire Enterprises. Cookie got out of prison and is now determined to get her share of the company.

Both Howard and Henson had careers in music and this makes them a perfect fit for the show. Most of the "Empire" TV show cast are reportedly meant to sing or play an instrument.

In the upcoming episodes of the Fox musical drama, expect to see things get even more intense with arrival of new singer-actors who reportedly will play themselves. Mind you, these actors are Grammy and MTV Awards winners and nominees.

In an exclusive report by E! Online, it is revealed that "American Idol" third season finalist Jennifer Hudson will be joining the "Empire" TV show cast for a guest role. She will also be joined by MTV Europe Music multiple nominee Rita Ora.

"The Empire just keeps growing stronger...This time, with some A-list names!

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and superstar singer Rita Ora, who's set to make her acting debut in Fifty Shades of Grey, have been cast as guest stars on Fox's hip-hop breakout hit, E! News has learned," the website wrote.

E! Online also wrote that Fox is currently working to sign female rapper Iggy Azalear for a guest role.

"We are also told that producers reached out to Iggy Azalea and tried to make a guest spot work, but the scheduling wouldn't allow it. Fox doesn't comment on casting rumors," the website claimed.

For the show's sixth episode, it will welcome another big music name Courtney Love. Aside from Howard and Henson, "Empire" TV series cast also includes Trai Byers of critically acclaimed movie "Selma" and "The Mighty Ducks" star Jussie Smollett.
