"Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 premiere may be taking too long but that might be a good thing. At least you have more time to read about the changes in the show and the new journey that Leonard da Vinci (Tom Riley) will be taking.

In an earlier interview with the Entertainment Weekly, Shiban said that for the new season, he will bring what he learned from the award winning writer/director and the hit AMC show.
There will be more emphasis on the characters. This means aside from Tom Riley's Da Vinci, fans will now also learn more about the past of Blake Ritson's Count Riario and why is he so driven by power, Laura Haddock's Lucrezia Donati, and Gregg Chillin's Zoroaster de Peretol.

At the New York Comic Con late last year, Shiban said the Ottoman invasion will be a vital factor in "Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 story arc. As you can recall from the finale of last season, Da Vinci's mother, the one he never had a memory of but is well alive in his mind because of his dreams and hallucinations, is on the ship of the Turks. This will be one of the crossroads that the show's protagonist will come across with.
"We're using the Ottoman invasion as a way to bring everybody together and that way, new people will quickly understand what Riario was facing, what Lucrezia's facing because they're all facing one giant event. It's their Pearl Harbor, It's their 9/11...The war begins, and you're meeting all these people in the light of that," he said.
At the Portugal Comic-Com, Tom Riley said the new season will be different under Shiban's watch.
"There won't be any major changes, but I think it will look different. It didn't change the way we work since many department heads are the same, likewise for the cast that know each other intimately. We're still doing the same thing guaranteed," the actor said as reported by Crossmap.
