"Orphan Black" season 3 premiere episode might not show Rachel Duncan (Tatiana Maslany), the villainous female clone in the second season.
This is because she is out somewhere recovering from her injury after getting hit in the eye with a pencil (shot from a fire extinguisher) by Sarah Manning.
She is still in the show but the thing is, she is no longer an employee of the Dyad Institute, the company behind the creation of female clones.
There is another shocking thing about Rachel's absence in Dyad labs. Don't be surprised if in the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere episode, or the next one, you will see Delphine (Evelyne Brochu) working for the scientists that started the whole mess and desires to wash off the female clones.
As all fans know, Delphine is the partner of Cosima, one of the female clones working with Sarah. What is her goal in working for Dyad?
In a post by the Entertainment Weekly, a fans asked if it is Delphine who will replace Duncan and guess what, that fan is right.
"That would be correct! Delphine's job responsibilities have changed mainly because there is a position that has been vacated, because of the fall of Rachel," executive producer John Fawcett tells Natalie Abrams.
"Someone has had to step into Rachel's chair, which may interfere-in a large degree-in her relationship with Cosima," he added.
To the fans of Rachel Duncan, if she has one, don't worry because she is confirmed alive after being attacked by Sarah.
"She's alive," said Fawcett who hinted her injury will make big impact on her personality. Whether it will be good or bad, that is something will see once "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere starts rolling.
"How do you take someone like that and then f- them up? How do they respond to that? This is someone who has a ton of power, really, and thrives on [being above the other clones]. Now to be less than perfect and to have her authority and power stripped from her, that's an interesting journey that character could be on this year," he concluded.
