"Big Bang Theory" star Mayim Bialik was involved in a car accident Wednesday afternoon in Hollywood where she sustained several injuries and her finger appeared to be nearly severed.
According to a TMZ report, there was a lot of blood at the scene and she is in danger of losing her thumb. Bialik was rushed to a hospital immediately after the collision.
"From what I was told, there was a lot of blood at the scene," says Sgt. Monte Houze.
Luckily, the mother of two was alone in her white Volvo, not transporting her children, when she was struck by a car full of tourists at the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. and La Brea.
"Big Bang Theory" is currently in season, but it's too soon to tell whether Bialik's accident will impact production. Bialik boasts a Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Emmy nomination this year for her work on the CBS comedy.
