Kristen Stewart Still in Upcoming 'Snow White' But in a Minor Role: Report

| By

All the negative attention Kristen Stewart has been drawing to herself after cheating with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders with her high profile boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, has led the producers of the upcoming sequel to drop her from having a main role in the film.

Reports surfaced earlier this week that Stewart had been dropped from a planned sequel to "Snow White," the studio behind the picture, Universal, weighed in on Tuesday and said the actress may still appear in the sequel

According to the Los Angeles Times, Universal had planned to make two movies with the Snow White character, then another that focused specifically on the Huntsman. Now they're fast-forwarding directly to the Huntsman movie, minus Stewart but with Chris Hemsworth. The working title of the sequel: "No One and the Huntsman." Rupert Sanders, the director of the first film, also may not be involved.

"The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise," a Universal spokeswoman said, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

It is highly unusual for Hollywood studios to drop stars of franchises between the first and second installments. The original plan, according to sources, was to make two films featuring the Snow White character and a third film spinning off the Huntsman, similar to how Fox's X-Men series has spun off Wolverine.

Both Stewart, 22, and married father of two Sanders, 41, issued public apologies last month after pictures surfaced of the two kissing in public.

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson has been cast as T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia, in the upcoming film "Queen of the Desert," a biopic about writer Gertrude Bell. Pattinson has also been busy promoting his upcoming movie "Cosmopolis" by appearing on the The Daily Show with host Jon Stewart and Wednesday on "Good Morning America." In both interviews, the British actor avoided questions about his personal life and opted instead to joke that he needs a publicist to help him with these type of awkward interviews.
