Photorumors.com has published an article on Canon's rumored DSLR, the EOS 5DS, a powerful model that boasts a 50.6 mega pixel sensor.
Reported features include a 50.6 full frame CMOS sensor, close to the capabilities of a digital medium format sensor. The sensor will be coupled to a DIGIC6 dual processor. It will also be able to shoot in two crop modes: 1.3x and 1.6x.
Improvements reported include a "fine detail" picture style, high precision 61 auto-focus pointsa and EOS iTR AF.
Regular ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 6400, continuous shooting up to five frames per second, time-lapse movie setting, interval timer and bulb timer.
The body will be made from Magnesium alloy and will be dust and water sealed and will feature a customizable "Quick Control Screen."

A version without a low-pass filter called the EOS 5D R will also be made available according to reports.
The new model is believed to be the successor to the Canon 5d MK III but won't be called the 5d MK IV.
Appropriately, this new model will be added to the 5d series as the Canon 5d MK I and 5d MKII are being discontinued, the 5dS is expected to continue this lineage of models from Canon.
Canon is reported to give an official announcement by next week. Until then, all these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
