The last episode of The CW Network TV series "The Flash" put Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) on the hot seat as his former prodigy who has an ax to grind returns in Central City.
Hartley Rathaway, Dr. Wells' former favorite student became the villain Pied Piper after the two fall out some years ago. Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) was able to stop Hartley's plans but he is not yet done.
As for the STAR Labs professor, he may have redeemed himself to his colleagues after Pied Piper's revelation but fans should not be fooled. According to "The Flash" series episode guide from EP Andrew Kreisberg, Wells is a monster waiting for the perfect time to unleash himself.
Talking to TV Line shortly after "The Flash" series episode 11 titled "The Sound and the Fury," Kreisberg cleared Dr. Harrison Wells' end game is not on the good side. This will be revealed by the end of the season.
"Wells has a definitive plan. When you look back, you'll see he's had a definitive reason for doing all the things that he's done throughout the course of the season. We think it makes sense. Hopefully, you all will, too," Kreisberg said.
He also insisted that although Wells, who previously appeared as Reverse Flash is doing great things to help The Flash improve his abilities, Dr. Harrison Wells has a hidden agenda.
"As secrets start to come out, how do you reconcile the Harrison Wells that we see in this episode, who's a friend and selfless and kind, with this monster?" Kreisberg explained.
"The only debate we had amongst ourselves was how long will the audience accept knowing he's the villain and having the rest of our characters not know, which is something we've been dealing with for the back half of the season. Are people going to feel like they're dumb for not realizing this? Part of what's keeping these next stream of episodes going is how good at hiding his villainy Wells is, and how strong Tom's performance is."
