"Arrow" season 3 episode guide has it that the next few weeks will be centered on the transformation of Katie Cassidy's Laurel Lance into the Black Canary.
People had a glimpse of the superhero version of the attorney-former lover of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in the show's first 2015 episode last week and the one this week.
In the next episode, screen time for the blonde in black suit will level up, so is the action that she will get involved with.
Not everyone is sold in Laurel Lance becoming the Black Canary. Some were just too invested on Sarah (Caity Lotz), the former Canary, while others think it is too fast for Laurel to don the costume.
While there is a division when it comes to the reception of her character's transformation, Katie Cassidy is aware she has a long way to go. Talking to Comicbook before the "Arrow" season 3 episode 11 titled "Midnight City" aired, Cassidy cleared that Laurel has to earn the costume.
"I think it's smart that every character has to earn their suit or their costume. You can't just overnight all of a sudden be a superhero. You have to go through things and hit your rock bottom and then be able to come out on top and build character and be strong," she explained.
She also said she is working hard to satisfy fans, especially the huge fan base of the comic books where Arrow (potrayed by Stephe n Amell) and Black Canary were based from.
"I wake up at 5 a.m. and go to the gym and work with my trainer as I go to work and it has taken a lot out of me but every single moment has been worth it because I live for it. I love it. I just think that I have the same reaction that Laurel would have, where yeah, this stuff has happened and she's honoring her sister's death and she's defending her sister but she doesn't want to think of the fact that her father doesn't know that she isn't Sara and she still is trying to bury it."
