The "Suicide Squad" has been all the buzz lately in the superhero movie genre, the first of its kind starring villains as the main characters. Warner Bros. announced its initial cast - Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Cara Delevigne are all slated to star in the upcoming film to play iconic villains from the DC universe.
Tom Hardy, initially part of the original cast has since left the project due to scheduling problems.
According to Screen Rant, JoBlo claims that additional cast members are joining the "Squad."
Ed Harris (Snowpiercer) and Max Martini (Pacific Rim) are highly rumored to be playing father and son duo Rick Flag, Sr. & Jr. (respectively), while Tom Hardy was slated to play Rick Flag in the early stages.
Gary Sinise (CSI: New York) is rumored to play General Wade Elling aka "The General." But JoBlo is claiming that he is to play Lois Lane's father, General Sam Lane.
Karl Urban (Star Trek, Dredd) has been reported joining the DC universe; highly rumored to be playing a villain in the Aquaman movie.
Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) is taking on the role of the new Joker. His version is said to be a Joker scarred from the years encountering Batman.
Cara Delevigne is slated to play the mind-manipulating Enchantress, reportedly the Squad's main target in the film.
The "Suicide Squad" will be released on Aug. 5, 2016 after "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."
