Yesterday, Blink 182 members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker announced that frontman Tom Delonge has "indefinitely" left The group. The break up was further discussed by Barker and Hoppus in a tell-all interview with Rolling Stone.
The two revealed that they have been experiencing problems with Delonge since their reunion, saying that he refused to play shows and record material for their latest album.
"We booked January 5th to go into the studio. On December 30th, we get an e-mail from Tom's manager saying that he has no interest in recording and that he wants to do his other, non-musical stuff and that he's out indefinitely," said Hoppus.
The bassist and drummer also went on to discuss an upcoming show called Musink Festival, an annual event that Barker co-owns. They have announced that Alkaline Trio's frontman Matt Skiba would be filling-in the guitar parts.
"All three of us agreed to play this Musink show. So just like last year, when Travis could't go to Australia and we got a fill-in drummer to replace Travis, we found a replacement guitarist for Tom on this show."
Barker expressed his disappointment over his former bandmate, calling him "ungrateful" and "disingenuous."
"It's hard to cover for someone who's disrespectful and ungrateful. You don't even have the balls to call your bandmates and tell them you're not going to record or do anything Blink-related. You have your manager do it," said Barker.
Delonge, since the press release of his bandmates has countered the accusations with a message on his Instagram, saying "I didn't quit."
The break up has not yet been confirmed official as the two parties have opposing sentiments regarding the matter.
Shortly after the Rolling Stone interview, Delonge published another message on Twitter, the message reads:
"A year ago Mark and I spent a week on the phone with managers debating parting ways with Travis... Don't pretend there isn't more to this story."
